Pansy

The scientific name of the pansy is violax wittrockiana. They grow to be about 10 inches tall and 12 inches wide.

Yellow Trillium

Also known as trillium luteum, the yellow trillium loves the shade. It grows well in shaded conditions with moist, well-drained soil. It gets its name from a light; slightly pale-yellow color and the marbled leaves are unique additions. They grow to be about 16 inches tall and 12 inches wide.

Hellebore

You may know this flower as the Lenten rose or even the Christmas rose. Hellebores are recognizable by their delicate beauty and soft color. They are great flowers for spring because of their resilience to light frosts. The scientific name for the hellebore is helleborus niger. They enjoy the shade and moist, well-drained soil. The grow to be about 12 inches tall and 18 inches wide.

Bloodroot

The sanguinaria canadensis prefers to grow in an environment of shade and moist, well-drained soil. Unlike its name, bloodroot flowers are white flowers with about nine petals and yellow centers. They last until late spring. And grow to be about 6 inches tall and 12 inches wide. They are a great choice in woodland or shaded gardens.

Snowdrop Anemone

The anemone nemorosa is more commonly known as the snowdrop anemone. They feature a cluster of white petals with yellow centers. These flowers enjoy the sun and moist, well-drained soil. They grow to be about 6 inches tall and 12 inches wide.
